Goals
The driving force behind successful completion of our programs to prevent relapse is a list of specific goals to fulfill our mission.

To design and implement a treatment program that successfully addresses directly the specific needs of each individual woman in order for her to return as a fully functioning member of society.

To provide the needed facilities so that women who are responsible for the care of dependent children are able to obtain the same treatment, and, as a corollary, to provide, in residence with their mothers, treatment and preventive services to those children.

To serve as a model for other women’s treatment programs and to provide training for those who wish to address the specific needs of women in treatment.
Since its founding, the Board of Directors has intended that Chrysalis House, Inc. shall serve a majority of poverty designated clients.

Historical Highlights
In July 1986, Chrysalis House, Inc. began its mission to provide substance abuse treatment services specifically designed to meet the needs of women, including pregnant and postpartum women and their infants.
Chrysalis House, Inc. has become a leader in Maryland in substance abuse treatment services over the last decade!
1995: Newly expanded Crownsville facility with 24 adult beds and 10 children beds
1998: Transitional Housing services for graduates initiated
1999: Little Caterpillar Center (on-site daycare center) dedicated
2000: Family Program initiated
2003: Chrysalis House certified for outpatient services
2004: Baltimore City Site closed due to funding; Avery House Halfway House opened for 10 women and 10 children (under contract with Montgomery County)
2007: Chrysalis House Healthy Start opened
2009: Groundbreaking for new boutique to sell clothings, furniture, art, crafts, and books
Present: Ongoing expansion project at the Crownsville facility to add 10 new beds
